The RANN study is designed to map out the parts of neural network associated with various cognitive tasks. They are doing this to facilitate studies of age related changes in cognitive abilities by measuring changes in the brain as opposed to measuring changes in specific cognitive abilities. It is believed that measuring brain changes would be more efficient and more accurate. The materials provided tell us the specific requirements for participation in the RANN study. The Touro study piggy-backed on the RANN study. It used a specific subset of RANN study participants to measure stress levels based on demographics. The materials describe the 3 hypothesis of the Touro study (for example, that being black increase stress levels) and provides the results in tables. The paper asks you to answer some pretty basic questions about the RANN study and Touro study recruitments, hypothesis, measures, and results. It then asks for strengths and weaknesses of the Touro study and for what you think about the results.
This assignment consists of two parts: paper and in-class presentation.

Advocacy takes many forms. One way is to communicate formally with an elected official, a government agency, or a private entity on behalf of service users to advocate for a specific change. In this Assignment, you will draft a 1-page formal letter to advocate, based on one of the following options:
Option A:
An individual service user has been denied a specific benefit or service and you need to address a specific person or entity to advocate on their behalf to receive that benefit or service.
Option B:
A population of service-users is being adversely impacted by a specific policy (or lack of policy) and you need to address a specific person or entity to advocate on behalf of this specific population.
If you choose Option A, the individual service user can be fictitious. If you are basing the letter on a real individual, the individual should be anonymous for the purposes of the Assignment, and any of the details shared in the letter should not give away private details or identifying information.
The specific person or entity you address in your letter could range from a property manager, employer, health insurance provider, judge, councilperson, or mayor, to a state representative, state commission, congressperson, senator, or governor, just to name a few examples.

Submit a 1-2-page paper (not including a title page or reference page) that addresses the following areas. Use the bolded section of the instructions as a heading in your paper.
Refine the Problem Statement. Refine your problem statement, based on what you learned from your peers, your Instructor, and/or the Learning Resources this week and in previous weeks.
Develop a Team Strategy. Normally, after you have identified a project team, you would meet with the team and collaborate on the items listed below. In this case, since you are only planning the community needs assessment, you will address these items yourself rather than with a team.
Describe the top five strategies that you would prioritize to address the problem and prevent its recurrence. Explain your reasoning for prioritizing the strategies, including how the time and resources it would take to implement each influenced your decision making. Be sure to incorporate any feedback you received from your peers and/or your Instructor during the Week 4 Discussion, if applicable.
If you were to conduct this assessment, what is your estimation of the amount of time it would take to carry it out and why?
Describe the proposed decision-making protocol (e.g., majority vote, priority- based decision making) that you would use to reach a consensus among team members if you carried out the community needs assessment. Explain why you selected this protocol.

Spiritual Development in Adolescence
Spirituality and religion can be important to adolescent development. At this stage, adolescents on the cusp of adulthood may struggle with faith and whether to believe in organized religion or a higher spiritual power. Specifically, as individuals begin to engage in critical thought, questions may arise around the ideas of, “Who is God?”, “Does God exist?”, “What is life?”, “Why are we here?”, “Why am I here?”, and “What happens when we die?” As part of identity development, adolescents become capable of critical thought, including the asking of the question, “What do I believe?” Answers to these questions can be a journey involving cognitive processing and intense emotional sensitivity. These answers may further be impacted by the influences encountered within the individual’s lives. For this reason, it is important to explore the challenges in adolescent spiritual development as well as to highlight the major theoretical frameworks that inform and shape this understanding.
In this Assignment, you analyze theoretical perspectives related to spiritual or religious development in adolescents.
By Day 7
Submit a 2- to 4-page paper in which you:
Identify and analyze a theoretical perspective on spiritual and religious development during adolescence (e.g., Fowler’s stages of faith development).
Identify one to two psychological and social challenges in adolescent spiritual development.
Explain how exposure to beliefs or ideologies counter to an adolescent’s own family values may impact his or her moral development.
Explain the correlation of spirituality with an adolescent’s sense of well-being, life attitudes, altruism, school success, and identity development.
