O‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌verview: Healthcare professionals provide support throughout the cycle of life, from birth to death. They have an obligation to provide humane and
compassionate care to patients while adhering to their specific field’s code of ethics. Sometimes, healthcare professionals are privy to discussions between
family members regarding end-of-life issues. In some instances, a healthcare facility may be in charge of providing information about advance directives to
patients. Healthcare professionals should calibrate their own moral beliefs to align with their ethical and legal obligations. By studying issues contained within
real-life cases, healthcare professionals can come to terms with their beliefs and obligations relative to end-of-life issues.
Prompt: In this project, you will analyze the Terri Schiavo case through the lens of the bioethical issue(s) related to the case. You will address what the bioethical issue is and what role end-of-life issues, such as self-determination and advanced directives, played in the case. Using your analysis, you will determine how this bioethical issue impacted the decisions made by the healthcare professionals involved in the case.
Specifically, the essay must address the following critical eleme‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌nts:
I. Introduction: Describe the provided case, including information on the stakeholders involved, the bioethical issue, and the time period of the incident that occurred.
II. Bioethical Analysis: Analyze the bioethical issue for the role end-of-life issues played in the case. Be sure to use appropriate terminology and support
with secondary research.
III. Conclusion: Describe how the bioethical issue influenced the decisions of healthcare professionals involved in the case. Be sure to use specific examples. Here are sources listed below to use for this assignment.

This week, you have the task of analyzing the conflict case below titled, The Case of the Hamburger Dilemma. In your evaluation, avoid summarizing the case. Instead, analyze the case critically and assess how it pertains to this week’s readings. Refer to the Guide to a Successful Case Study Analysis for additional guidance. Remember, excellent analyses are a combination of critical and analytical thoughts connected to greater themes presented in the readings – and this is not an easy task.
Be sure to include the following required elements in your assignment:
Briefly describe what you consider two or three major issues contained in the case.
Explain how these points or issues integrate with the material covered this week and explain their relevance to the case.
Identify the implications for the parties involved in the case.
Provide a brief description of the questions/challenges you have regarding the readings and explain why they are important.
Answer the following questions based on your confidence level surrounding conflict at this point in the course:
What are some things you already know about conflict and conflict resolution?
What do you need from this course? (For example: What do you expect to be able to do at the end of this course that you can’t do now?)
Do not include the following in your analysis:
A summary of the readings
A detailed description of the case
Any editorials
The Hamburger Dilemma:
Due to budgetary cuts, Bob and Diane are relocated from their individual offices and forced to share a single office space. One day Diane brings a hamburger for lunch and heats it in the office microwave. When she gets back to her desk, Bob reminds Diane he is a vegetarian for religious rea‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌sons and asks her to leave the office to eat her lunch. Diane and Bob have a problematic history, and she is on a deadline for their boss, so she declines Bob’s request. Instead, she leaves her plate on the desk while she runs out to fill her water bottle. Since Diane won’t leave, Bob decides he’s going to leave the office for a while. As he gets up to go, he trips over the cord to Diane’s lamp and falls into her lunch plate, knocking it to the floor. Diane isn’t there to see it was truly an accident and walks in just as Bob is picking her plate up off the floor.
As you are preparing your response, think about the following questions:
What were the roots of the conflict? (Remember the triangle)
How do the parties to the conflict view the behavior of their ‘opponents’ and pursue their own interests in the conflict situation?
At what point did the conflict become detrimental to the parties involved?
How might this conflict extend to the larger workplace if not resolved?
This exercise is less about “getting it right” and more about identifying your own capacity to recognize antecedents, reflect on the way you currently manage conflict and self-identify ways in which you can improve your ability to recognize, diagnose, and resolve conflict in the future.

‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSESSMENT:
Background information / introduction:
This assessment is based on advice provided to a client about one of the legal problems outlined below.
For this assignment you need to prepare for a client meeting. This will require you to identify what legal principles apply to the problems, research the relevant area of law, identify what questions you would need to ask the client and what issues would need to be investigated further (for example by checking the contract or lease) and provide an overview of the client’s position).
For this assignment I would need a variety of credible research materials including books, reports, journals and internet sources to inform your advice. All your research sources and any illustrations MUST be correctly referenced at the end of the report with separate references and if necessary bibliography sections following the Harvard System of Referencing (Cite Them Right)/ Harvard APA 7th edition.
“Your advice should be presented in the form of a flowchart(s).
You will also need to include a reference list, which includes all the sources used in preparing your advice. You will not be required to include in text references on the flowchart.”
The Scenario for this assignment is the following:
“You work in a multidisciplinary surveying practice. You have just received an email from one of the firm’s clients, Alan Jones of Northumbria Developments Limited (‘NDL’) about some problems that they have encountered on one of their development sites in the Northeast of England. NDL acquired the freehold title to the site about eighteen months ago. Planning permission has recently been granted for a mixed-use office-led scheme on the site and work has commenced on phase one.
The problem that you would be required to solve would be the following:
“On the opposite side of the‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌ street to the site there is another development nearing completion, which consists of the conversion of warehouses into luxury apartments. The owner of that site has complained that the proposed apartment block that is under construction on NDL’s land will affect the daylight the warehouse buildings enjoy and is also complaining about noise, dust and vibrations from the site.
The flowchart should cover Two sides of A4.
For the problem above, it is broken down into two Nuances that need to be addressed on each page with the use of the flowchart.
1st flow chart (page 1)
Rights of light. Does the neighbour have the benefit of any light?. Is there an actionable interference? What are the remedies and what are the possible options?

2nd flow chart (page2)
Noise, dust and vibrations – Law of Tort. Case of Nuance. Potential liability for NDL. What are are the remedies, actionable steps and options?
500 Word summary is needed after explaining some of the decision making process in the flowchart. Why you have chosen to include things and omit other things from the flowchart? What is the reasoning for applying certain legalities and omitting others?
The assessment regarding word count should roughly be broken down into the following.
Page 1 – Flowchart 400 words
Page 2 Flow chart – 400 words
Page 3 – 500 word Summary
Assessment Breakdown of marks.
“Identification of the key legal principles applicable to the scenario
Analysis of the key issues and understanding of the law as demonstrated by appropriate questions and consequences in the flowchart.
Understanding of client’s needs and options as demonstrated in the flowchart
Evidence of rigorous research (including case law and legislation) correctly referenced

Ron supervises delivery of flowers for a wholesale distributor of fresh flowers, Flowers. Inc. In order to accommodate one of the company’s best customers, Ron offers to immediately rush a delivery of fresh peonies. All of the delivery trucks are currently out on delivery. Ron directs an employee, Ruth, to use her own vehicle to deliver the flowers.
Ruth carelessly parks her car on a steep hill, leaving the car in neutral and failing to engage the parking brake. The car rolls down the hill, knocking down an electric line. The sparks from the broken line ignite a grass fire. The fire spreads until it reaches a gasoline station one mile away. There is a tanker truck off-loading gasoline to the station’s gas tanks. The fire ignites the gasoline being pumped into the tanks, and one of the tanks explodes, causing part of the station structure to fall on and injure a passing motorist, Jim.
Can Jim recover damages from Ruth; from Flowers’ Inc? Why or why not?
Identify the cause of action. Discuss each element of the cause of action, and relate them to your assessment of whether Jim has a cause of action against Ruth.
Discuss the legal doctrine under which Jim might also recover from Flowers, Inc.
Draft your response.

I‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌nstructions Throughout the United States, there are group

Throughout the United States, there are groups of people who are in immigrant, religious communities, or indigenous people who are reluctant to trust members of law enforcement, nor wish to participate in any governmental or non-profit program even if their members would substantially benefit from participating in the design and implementation of a strategic plan. In many cases, this distrust of the criminal justice system can be due to language differences, cultural issues, or a previous history of discrimination within the criminal justice system against a group of people. The CEO of a non-profit that employs you has requested that you prepare a presentation.
Assess and recommend how you would be able to reach out and build participation with any such group in your state that has traditionally avoided participation in the development of criminal justice services in their community as it relates to the criminal justice system.
In addition, you will provide one or two slides that discuss the history and uniqu‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌e cultural nature of a group in your state you are focusing on, along with a news story that highlights the difficulty in getting their cooperation with law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Support your conclusions with references from a minimum of five (5) journal articles or publications.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Create a PowerPoint slide set. Think about who your target audience is and how your topic affects them.
Length: 10 Slide PowerPoint presentation with notes (200 words per slide)
References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA standard‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌s

I‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌nstructions Contribute to raising awareness in your commu

Contribute to raising awareness in your community by creating a case study in criminal justice reform in your state.
Communicating to your local community at large, you have found that people understand very little regarding the historical conflict between law enforcement and the local community in your state/local area. Based on recent news events, you have chosen to discuss the problems with law enforcement and the court system in your state in terms of why people are distrusting the police and the criminal justice system itself. Be sure to discuss the complaints/concerns that have been voiced by the community in recent years in terms of law enforcement’s role in the community when it comes to addressing crime and social problems.
Identify the problems found in your state and recommend if law enforcement should receive new training, be defunded in favor of another programming approach (as recommended by you), or potentially a combination of new law enforcement training with a new program that can be implemented to improve the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
Outline and determine alternative courses of action and draw appropriate conclusions using learned concepts in this course. You want to emphasize the major implications for your recommendation and how it would solve problems in your community, including dealing with crime and social problems unique to your state location. Please note this is essentially your opportunity to pitch an idea via a case study.
