Topic 3 DQ 1
Submit a summary of six of your articles on the discussion board. Discuss one strength and one weakness for each of these six articles on why the article may or may not provide sufficient evidence for your practice change.
The first article “Promotion and Support of Breastfeeding Within the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative Programme in Slovakia” looks at how the initiation of breastfeeding done shortly after birth along with support and assistance from health professionals influence adherence to breastfeeding. A weakness or limitation to this study is that it takes place in the Baby Friendly hospital setting only. A strength is that I work at a baby friendly hospital and can compare.
Bašková, M., Chabanová, B., Škodová, Z., Malinovská, N., & Urbanová, E. (2020). Promotion and support of breastfeeding within the baby-friendly hospital initiative programme in Slovakia. Central European Journal of Nursing and Midwifery, 11(4), 180–187. https://doi.org/10.15452/cejnm.2020.11.0031
The second article, “Can a Call Make a Difference? Measured Change in Women’s Breastfeeding Self-efficacy Across Call Interactions on a Telephone Helpline” takes place after mother and baby have gone home. The focus is on mothers who have already initiated breastfeeding but seek support. A weakness is that where I am doing my practicum it is a in person clinic and this is a study that uses helplines, and I have to way of knowing how that works. A strength is that it is another form of support offered that can breing an insight to what might help mothers.
Thorpe, K., Jansen, E., Cromack, C., & Gallegos, D. (2018). Can a Call Make a Difference? Measured Change in Women’s Breastfeeding Self-efficacy Across Call Interactions on a Telephone Helpline. Maternal and Child Health Journal, 22(12), 1761–1770. https://doi.org/10.1007/s10995-018-2573-3
The third study “Experiences with peer support for breastfeeding in Beirut, Lebanon: A qualitative study” wanted to learn more about the experiences of breastfeeding mothers after being provided with peer support, and professional lactation support. A strength is that it looks at peer and professional support which is what I am looking for. I did not find a weakness in this article.
Kabakian-Khasholian, T., Nimer, H., Ayash, S., Nasser, F., & Nabulsi, M. (2019). Experiences with peer support for breastfeeding in Beirut, Lebanon: A qualitative study. PLOS ONE, 14(10). https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0223687
The fourth study, “The impact of family culture on six months exclusive breastfeeding: A qualitative study in New Zealand” wanted to evaluate the impact of family culture on exclusive breastfeeding practice. A weakness is that we can not measure how much family support patients have. A strength is that all types of breastfeeding support are valid to continue breastfeeding.
Alianmoghaddam, N., Phibbs, S., & Benn, C. (2018). The impact of family culture on six months exclusive breastfeeding: A qualitative study in New Zealand. Breastfeeding Review, 26(1), 23–36.
The fifth article “Midwives’ perceptions of barriers to exclusive breastfeeding in Bhutan: A qualitative study.” looks at the five main barriers to exclusive breastfeeding. A strength is that it give an overview on what changes are necessary to increase breastfeeding. A weakness is that the barriers may not apply to my region for the change proposal.
Pemo, K., Phillips, D., & Hutchinson, A. M. (2020). Midwives’ perceptions of barriers to exclusive breastfeeding in Bhutan: A qualitative study. Women and Birth, 33(4), 377-384 https://doi.org/10.1016/j.wombi.2019.07.003
The final article, “Examining supports and barriers to breastfeeding through a socio-ecological lens: A qualitative study.” is focused on breastfeeding education through social media strategies. This itself is a strength, it is also the most recent study of them all. A weakness is that it is only limited to one state in the U.S. to collect data.

Asthma is a respiratory disorder that affects children and adults. Advanced practice nurses often provide treatment to patients with these disorders. Sometimes patients require immediate treatment, making it essential that you recognize and distinguish minor asthma symptoms from serious, life-threatening ones. Since symptoms and attacks are often induced by a trigger, advanced practice nurses must also help patients identify their triggers and recommend appropriate management options. Like many other disorders, there are various approaches to treating and managing care for asthmatic patients depending on individual patient factors.
One method that supports the clinical decision making of drug therapy plans for asthmatic patients is the stepwise approach, which you explore in this Assignment.
Reflect on drugs used to treat asthmatic patients, including long-term control and quick relief treatment options for patients. Think about the impact these drugs might have on patients, including adults and children.
Consider how you might apply the stepwise approach to address the health needs of a patient in your practice.
Reflect on how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease.
Create a 5- to 6-slide PowerPoint presentation that can be used in a staff development meeting on presenting different approaches for implementing the stepwise approach for asthma treatment. Be sure to address the following:
Describe long-term control and quick relief treatment options for the asthma patient from your practice as well as the impact these drugs might have on your patient.
Explain the stepwise approach to asthma treatment and management for your patient.
Explain how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease. Be specific.

There are many factors that will continue to impact community and population health.1.Consider the past achievements in public health as many have implications around the globe.2. Describe a global health concern that has impacted your community or those you care for.3.Discuss what surveillance data could be pulled from an electronic health record (EHR) you have used or currently use in your nursing practice.4. Take a moment to review the Twitter feed for compelling Tweets that are related to informatics, global health, and population health outcomes.5. Share an overview the Tweet and how it is likely to impact future collaborative trends in community health.6. Compose a 280-character or fewer Tweet that describes what you would like to see as a Tweet in the next decade related to public health achievements. Please try to be realistic, but also be visionary. Remember Twitter only allows 280 characters (this includes spaces, etc.) so you will need to be concise. It should include a hashtag. Include a reference URL if applicable. Share this Tweet in the discussion. (Note: A Twitter account is not required nor share your Tweet on social media). Your discussion post should look like:. Paragraph one: Describe a global health concern that has impacted your community or those you care for .Paragraph two: Discuss what surveillance data could be pulled from an electronic health record (EHR) you have used or currently use in your nursing practice.. Paragraph three: Share information from a Tweet and how it is likely to impact future collaborative trends in community health.. Paragraph four: Compose a 280-character Tweet that describes what you would like to see as a Tweet in the next decade related to public health achievements.. Each article summary should be prepared with 5 separate paragraphs of text organ

Each article summary should be prepared with 5 separate paragraphs of text organized under separate section headings (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Stance). Your goal is to extract the key points from each section so the reader can read the review and understand the purpose, rationale, method, results, and implications of the study (discussed in language a layperson can understand). The review must be in your own words! Do not simply copy directly from the article – prove to me that you can explain the key points. The following bullet points should be used to guide your reading of the article and writing each section of the summary.
Locate a stress and health article of interest published between 2012 and 2020 from an academic journal of your choosing
Provide the reference to the article in APA Style (see https://goo.gl/UBSCcI (Links to an external site.)).
Introduction
What is the purpose of the article and how or why is the study important and/or relevant to motivational psychology (broadly)?
What are the main study hypotheses and/or research questions?
Methods
What sample was used and how was the sample obtained?
What were the key independent and dependent variables in the study?
How can the overall study be described in terms of research design (i.e., descriptive, observational, correlational, quasi-experimental, experimental)?
Results
What were the key findings for each hypothesis or research question?
Were findings significant, non-significant?
What was the magnitude or strength of significant findings?
Were any additional results obtained that were unexpected or contrary to the hypotheses or research questions?
Discussion
What conclusions did the authors reach in regard to the results?
What implications do the study findings have?
What limitations are present?
Stance
State two ways you might apply this research to your own life or career/practice (e.g., highlighting its strengths or implications), each as a single sentence, and number them.
Examine the impact these findings have on our understanding of human psychology; in other words, what can you conclude from the study and why are the results of this study important?

Group therapy can alleviate feelings of isolation and foster a supportive and collaborative environment for sharing difficult feelings in order to facilitate healing. For many people, being part of a group that has a shared understanding of a struggle provides a unique opportunity to gain understanding of their own experiences.
As you examine one of the group therapy demonstrations from this week’s Learning Resources, consider the role and efficacy of the leader and the reasons that specific therapeutic techniques were selected.
